Customs Screening

The expectation of governments and citizens when it comes to Customs authorities is that they will both impede the import of goods that endanger public safety and prevent import tax evasion, while facilitating international trade.

CASRA has developed specific training services and products that are tailored to Customs screening.

Computer-based training (CBT) is available for Customs organizations in the areas of Customs Baggage Screening and Customs High Energy. Additionally, CASRA offers X-ray Image Analysis and Interpretation Instructions.

Customs Baggage Screening (CBS)
CASRA’s Customs baggage training module includes prohibited and restricted items that are Customs-specific, such as narcotics, tobacco and protected species.
Customs High Energy (HE)
High energy X-ray systems are a great ally of Customs administrations at ports and borders. CASRA’s Customs High Energy training module has been designed to support Customs organizations with vehicle and cargo screening.
Customs X-Ray Image Analysis and Interpretation Training Instructions
CASRA’s instructions combine theoretical modules, computer-based training (CBT) X-ray image exercises and the specialized knowledge of our instructors. Training instructions for Customs organizations and similar agencies are offered for both high energy and conventional X-ray systems, including Train the Trainers courses.

2-DAY OPEN ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTION in

HIGH ENERGY X-RAY IMAGE ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION

High energy X-ray systems provide several advantages to Customs and border security agencies as they are capable of scanning shipping containers and trucks within a few minutes or, depending on the operations, even seconds. However, the image analysis and interpretation of high energy X-ray images is a challenging task for cargo screening officers due to image-based factors, geometric magnification, distortion of objects, and ever-changing concealment methods. During our 2-day open enrollment instructions, attendees will experience first-hand some of the topics that form part of our Customs High Energy instruction and will have the opportunity to exchange experiences with other peers. The instruction will be conducted by one of our expert trainers and access to our CBT platform X-Ray Tutor 4 will be provided for the duration of the event.
